Kerala, truly God’s own country. We have visited Kerala three time now. And every time we go there, we fall in love with it again. Kerala has things to offer to all age groups. You can have all type of vacations at one place. Be it hills, greenery, boat cruise, beaches, culture, you can find everything in one state. If you want to have a feel of it, here are the recommendations for places to visit:
Munnar
Munnar is a beautiful hill station with tea plantations all around. It can be easily accessible from Kochi (Cochin) in around 3.5-4 hrs. drive (130 km). The drive itself is so beautiful that you can enjoy every bit of it. Must do places that Munnar has are Rajamalai (Eravikulam) National park, Mattupetty Dam, Tea Museum, Tea Estates etc. Each one has its own beauty. Read more about Munnar

Thekkady
Famous for its wildlife, Thekkady is 90 km (2.5-3 hrs.) from Munnar. It has famous tiger reserve called Periyar Wildlife sanctuary. 2 hrs. boat ride in the lake surrounded by dense forest will leave you spellbound. Allepey
140 km (4 hrs.) from Thekkady and 60 km (1 hr.) from Cochin, Allepey is the destination for the people who want to enjoy staying on water as houseboats in Allepey will give you this unique experience. Cochin
Cochin (also called Kochi now) is the base as it is very well connected with other major cities. Cochin’s Chinese fishing nets are famous for their huge sizes. You can enjoy some fishing there. There are other few places to see like Paradesi Synagogue, Mattancherry Palace, Santa Cruz church, St. Francis church etc. Visiting these places is a good experience but not that spectacular like other places in Kerala.

Wayanad
Wayanad is a nice place to visit, especially for people staying in Bangalore as it is very close to it. Wayanad is also full of tea plantations and greenery all over the place. There are many tourist places which can give you complete hill station feeling. Some of them are Edakkal caves (you have to walk for around 1-1.5 km to reach caves), Soochippara waterfalls, Banasura Sagar Dam, Neelimala Viewpoint etc. Neelimala view point gives you an awesome view of the valley. Wayanad has many forest resorts where you can enjoy the nature at its full.

Kannur
Kannur is a hidden gem in the North Kerala. It has beautiful and clean beaches. Since it is less touristy, you can enjoy the place without too much crowd. There are good resorts and home stays which provide awesome services and in some resort you can get private beaches also. Kannur has a unique drive-in beach. You can actually drive your car or bike till beach and feel this unique experience. Read more about Kannur
